Putting others first
21st Century gives back to the community
At 21st Century Insurance, we’re focused on helping customers get the Same Great Coverage for Less.
But helping improve the lives of people in need is also a big priority. And that's why we support many charitable organizations across the country.
One of these organizations is the March of Dimes, a charity whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. The foundation is the flagship charity of 21st Century Insurance's parent company, the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies®.
"Farmers has supported the great work of the March of Dimes for more than 25 years," says Jaynine Warner, manager of communications and community events for 21st Century Insurance. "And when 21st Century joined Farmers, we enthusiastically joined them in their support of the March of Dimes."
How do we show our support?
Employees from 21st Century and Farmers walk in the March of Dimes March for Babies® events across the country as part of this effort. In addition, this year, 21st Century Insurance President and CEO Tony DeSantis will serve as the March for Babies chairman for the Delaware Chapter of the March of Dimes. Farmers is entering its fifth year as a national sponsor of the March of Dimes March for Babies walks and is one of the top three corporate fundraising teams.
The Farmers "Be A Hero for Babies DaySM," held annually in July, also demonstrates the commitment to community by Farmers agents and district managers, and now includes 21st Century employees. In 2010, Be A Hero For Babies Day raised $2,650,000 for the March of Dimes across the Farmers organization.
In addition to its corporate sponsorships, 21st Century's 1,800 employees across the country are as equally committed to their communities. In 2010, our employees volunteered nearly 10,000 hours and raised more than $75,000 for organizations such as the Susan G. Komen Foundation, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse, Special Olympics and Autism Speaks. They also generously donated food, coats, toys and, more importantly, their time, to many local organizations.
