21st Century is making a difference in our communities
At 21st Century Insurance, we not only are focused on delivering our customers the same great coverage for less – but we’re also committed to helping to meet the needs of the communities we serve.
And that’s why we are supporters of and active participants with many charitable organizations across the country.
Special Olympics 2011
Special Olympics 2011 Winter Games
21st Century Insurance is proud to support Special Olympics by providing sponsorships to its 2011 Winter Games in Delaware and New Jersey. Our contribution plays an important role in Special Olympics’ continuing efforts to provide year-round sports training and athletic competitions in a variety of Olympic-themed games for children and adults with intellectual disabilities – free of charge. 21st Century's sponsorship helps support quality programs and increased opportunities for athletes to compete in the games.
Special Olympics Delaware 2011 Basketball Tournament
Also this year, 21st Century is proud to sponsor the 2011 Special Olympics Delaware Basketball tournament – marking our fifth consecutive year of sponsorship and participation in this fun and exciting event.
Last year, more than 70 21st Century employees volunteered their time and talent for the event – assisting with activity coordination, awards ceremonies, score keeping and even singing the National Anthem.
“21st Century is excited to be a part of this great tournament,” said Tony DeSantis, 21st Century president and chief executive officer. “We look forward to joining these athletes, and to celebrate their athletic abilities, commitment and hard work.”
This year’s event will take place March 4-6, 2011, at the University of Delaware in Newark, Del.
Special Olympics is an organization that changes lives by promoting understanding, acceptance and inclusion between people with and without intellectual disabilities. Through year-round sports training, athletic competition and related programs conducted for nearly 3,300 children and adults with intellectual disabilities, the organization creates a model community that celebrates people's diverse gifts. Special Olympics builds sports skills, confidence, strength, motivation and self-esteem – not just for athletes, but for everyone involved.
March of Dimes
March for Babies®
21st Century Insurance is also busy preparing for the 2011 March for Babies® events across the country. Through our involvement in this fundraising initiative, 21st Century is helping the March of Dimes in its work toward the prevention of birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
This year, our company President and CEO, Tony DeSantis, will serve as the Delaware March of Dimes March for Babies walk chair. In addition, hundreds of 21st Century employees across the country will participate in the events to help raise awareness around this important cause.
